In the fast-changing world of crypto, adaptability isn't just an advantage—it’s the key to survival. Our journey, which started as Bitwala, transformed into Nuri and has now returned to its roots as Bitwala, embodies this principle.
Throughout all the past transitions, one thing has remained constant: our mission to make a living on crypto accessible to everyone.
A short recap of Bitwala’s history
Founded in 2014, Bitwala quickly rose to a big player in the cryptocurrency space. In 2021, we rebranded as Nuri, reflecting our ambition to become a holistic financial ecosystem.
However, challenges such as rapid expansion, regulatory hurdles, and market competition strained our operations. In 2022, the insolvency of a key partner, Celsius, exacerbated financial challenges, forcing Nuri to file for temporary insolvency.
However, what seemed like the end marked a fresh start—Bitwala 2.0. In 2023, we successfully relaunched Bitwala, offering our users a seamless crypto wallet and Visa card.
What is going to happen with Nuri?
After reviving Bitwala, we’ve made the strategic decision to part ways with the Nuri brand. The Nuri brand and domain will transition to new ownership, and while Nuri will remain a crypto project in the future, it will operate independently from our organization and services.
Migrate your Nuri account to Bitwala
To continue buying, selling, storing, and spending crypto with our services, you can seamlessly migrate your Nuri account to Bitwala in just a few simple steps.
Download, install, and open the new Bitwala App.
Select Transfer Nuri account to Bitwala, accept the terms and conditions, and log in using your Nuri login credentials.
After that, a screen will pop up where you simply need to authorize the transfer of your credentials from Nuri to Bitwala by checking a box.
Congratulations! You've now seamlessly moved your Nuri account into the Bitwala App, allowing you to reaccess your Bitcoin and Ethereum Vaults.
